Sherwin-Williams Duration Paint
Sherwin-Williams Duration paint is an exterior acrylic latex paint and is formulated using PermaLast® technology. This technology, infused with acrylic co-polymers ensures a rich and long-lasting paint coverage.
This Sherwin-Williams paint can be applied in temperatures as low as 35°, which comes in handy in Colorado, especially in mountain areas with colder winters and snowfall. The paint holds up in all weather conditions and offers great protection against peeling, cracking, and blistering, and most important under the baking Colorado sun, color fading.
More Than 100 Colors
Duration paint is available in a collection of more than 100 colors, in flat, satin, and gloss sheens. You can be sure that this color will remain beautiful and stand the test of time and weather. In fact, Duration paint is backed by a lifetime limited warranty, underlining the quality of this product. Depending on the weather and the condition of your siding, the Duration of paint should last between eight and ten years. That means you will not have to think about repainting your home for quite some time.
Another advantage to Duration paint is that it is self-priming. We won’t have to prime your siding separately before painting, which saves us time—and saves you money. The pre-primed paint yields fantastic coverage, so much so, that we usually only use one coat (sometimes two, for new projects). The primer and paint combo acts as a mildew-resistant coating, preventing unsightly moisture damage. Paint actually works in tandem with other moisture prevention measures and can ensure the integrity of your home’s exterior by preventing rot.
It Complements James Hardie Siding
One of the reasons we choose Duration paint is that it complements the James Hardie products we recommend. If you have James Hardie fiber cement siding with any of its ColorPlus® Technology colors, Sherwin-Williams can match those colors. This makes future projects or replacements even easier—we can guarantee that your siding repairs or trim pieces will match your ColorPlus siding and look seamlessly beautiful.
Not using fiber cement siding? Sherwin-Williams Duration paint adheres easily to more surfaces than most, including aluminum, steel, vinyl, and wood siding and trim. Keep in mind that, while the paint will last its warranty, your choice of siding material does matter. Especially in Colorado, wood siding needs to be repainted more often than other types. Your choice of siding material alters your maintenance and upkeep requirements.
