In Littleton, CO, Aged Pewter James Hardie Color Plus Lap Siding Rosewood Woodtone Siding Gave a Home New Life

Bellwether transformed a 1974 home in Littleton, CO, with Aged Pewter James Hardie Color Plus Lap Siding and Rosewood Woodtone Siding. We worked with our clients, who wanted to replace the siding with James Hardie Color Plus Lap Siding in a Board & Batten siding style in Aged Pewter with Arctic White trim for a modern upgrade to their home, adding Woodtone Rustic Series in Rosewood for warming touches. These unique colors and siding materials made for a charming combination and with the entry area becoming a high-design feature.

When the owners contacted Bellwether for their siding needs, they had been living in the home for ten years. In 50 years, the only exterior updates on their home was new paint. It was time for a new design that would upgrade the look of the home and protect the exterior with long-lasting quality materials.

How Did the Owners Opt to Transform Their Home with James Hardie Color Plus Lap Siding?

The home’s original siding was a wood composite siding, popular for the construction era but not a reliable siding material in the Colorado climate. Wood composite siding is not as durable a siding material as fiber cement siding, which is resistant to fire, pests, and other weather elements. Wood composite siding is vulnerable to weather elements and pests, and it carries high-fire risk. James Hardie fiber cement siding protects against all of these hazards with a high-end design that lasts a lifetime.

Our design team likes to bring extra design elements and unique features into exterior design plans. These clients opted for a cedar portico, which we finished with James Hardie Color Plus Lap Siding and James Hardie Color Plus Board & Batten. The final entry way is upgraded with quality materials for a high-drama finish.

What Colors Did the Project with Littleton CO Aged Pewter James Hardie Color Plus Lap Siding and Rosewood Woodtone Siding Use?

By choosing high-quality siding materials, the homeowners increased the style of their home. The James Hardie Color Plus and Rosewood Woodtone color choices, along with the siding style, also contributed to the dramatic finish. The old composite wood siding was replaced with James Hardie Board & Batten in Aged Pewter with Arctic White trim. Board & batten is a popular siding style which installs the siding planks vertically and then covers the gap between with a smaller board, called a batten. The overall effect of the siding technique is multi-dimensional, and the color choices added even more contrast and depth. The Aged Pewter and Arctic White combination provides contrast without detracting from the home’s overall appearance. This style is reminiscent of the farmhouse style that has seen an increase in popularity in recent years.

What Other James Hardie Elements Were Used for a Dramatic Design?

The cedar portico, constructed with JH Woodtone was also used to help create a more dramatic design. One of the advantages of Woodtone is how it mimics the natural look of wood, including the grain, while maintaining the fire-resistant and weather-resistant features of fiber cement siding. These James Hardie fiber cement panels add the high-design and warming effect of wood details but safeguard this Colorado home against environmental hazards like extreme temperatures and fire. Both the design benefits and the protective measures are guaranteed with lifetime warranties.

How Will the Owner Benefit from This New Siding in the Long Run?

Fiber cement siding, including JH Color Plus Lap Siding and JH Woodtone, are among some of the most durable siding materials. The lifetime warranties are another long-term benefit of investing in James Hardie fiber cement siding products for Colorado homes. James Hardie siding products offer a 15-year warranty, and Woodtone-treated siding has a 20-year warranty. Now our clients have a beautiful home that will endure for years to come.
